The cuia is the number one mate drinking vessel in Brazil – originally made from a gourd. The caámate ceramic cuia combines the traditional shape with modern materials: easy to clean, dishwasher-safe, and compatible with all types of mate. The brews are slightly milder than those from a calabash – perfect for beginners.

Three organic mate varieties to discover – a total of 300g:
Mate tea mildPure mate leaves, without stems or powder. Fresh, clean, and mild in taste. The perfect introduction for mate novices or anyone who prefers a milder flavor.

Erva MateBrazilian style. Fresh green mate leaves with sprigs and a hint of powder. Creamy and mild, slightly sweet and bitter with a typical Brazilian note.

Yerba Mate- Argentinian mate leaf cut. Naturally matured mate leaves with stems and powder. Round, mature, full-bodied and with an invigorating finish.

1. Heat water to 60–70°C. Place the bomba in the cuia, fill with water until it is just barely in the bowl.

2. Pour the mate directly onto the water, creating a mound. Distribute evenly.

3. Wait approximately 1 minute, then drink. A hole will form in the middle – if not, gently help it along.

4. Keep pouring water through this hole. Swirl along the edge to wash in fresh leaves. Cheers.

How do I prepare mate in the Cuia?

No risk of mold, no soaking, no maintenance required. Simply wash by hand with water or, if needed, put it in the dishwasher – that's it. The traditional shape remains, the problems don't.
